Becoming a Master Clinician

September 9, 2014:

Many people are legends in their own minds. We try hard and do our best but are we making a positive difference? Are we on the road to mastery?

It is always a challenge to determine whether we have reached mastery. In order to reach that point one needs to measure, measure, measure. The problem is there has always been a paucity of available tools for measuring outcomes. The IST Clinical Scorecard (ISTCS) is one such tool for measuring outcomes based on Intensive Structural Therapy (IST) and Results Based Accountability (RBA), a framework developed for public systems that is used world-wide.

There are a variety of clinical models available for our use. The essential issue is determining which ones give you the best outcomes. I encourage you to try using tools such as the ISTCS in your day-to-day practice, in order to determine both your own level of mastery and the effectiveness of your clinical model.

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it
